Labor welcomes today’s announcement that the Federal Government will provide additional funding to help with the clean-up of bushfire affected properties in New South Wales. 
 
Labor called for a national commitment earlier this month and we are glad the Government has listened.   
 
Today’s announcement comes on the back of a similar commitment to properties in Victoria.

The same commitment must now be provided to all states and territories affected by fires. 
 
This funding will make a real difference in the rebuilding of properties that have been damaged. It will mean homeowners and businesses will be able to spend money on rebuilding their homes and businesses instead of clearing up the damage. 
 
As the recovery continues, affected communities will need long term commitments from the Federal Government to rebuild.
 
Labor will continue to provide positive policy initiatives which help affected communities to get back on their feet.
