The Northern Australia Infrastructure Facility (NAIF) amendments released today are three years too late.
The NAIF was announced three years ago this month. Since then it has only invested in 1 project in Northern Australia and nothing in Queensland or the Northern Territory.
We have had three wasted years. Three years of missed opportunities. Three years when more jobs could have been created in Northern Australia.
The NAIF is the most constipated organisation established by this do-nothing Government.
Labor wants to see the NAIF succeed and start investing in projects that create jobs in the north. We hope this will finally get it moving.
