NBN Co today confirmed that Tony Abbott was lying when he told Australians they would all get the NBN by the end of 2016.
Before the election, the Prime Minister said:
“Under the Coalition, by 2016…there will be minimum download speeds of 25 megabits… We will deliver a minimum of 25 megabits…by the end of our first term.”

The people of Australia might not have liked the Coalition’s second rate NBN plan, but they were told they would get it by the end of 2016.
According to the rollout plan released by NBN Co today, less than a half of all Australian homes and businesses will have the NBN by the time of the next election.
Tony Abbott promised everyone would have the NBN by the next election – he lied.
This is the latest in a long list of Tony Abbott lies.
He lied about health funding, he lied about education funding, he lied about changes to the pension, he lied about cutting the ABC and SBS and he lied about the NBN.
In his first press conference as Prime Minister Tony Abbott said: “I don’t intend on making promises that I won’t keep.” That turned out to be the lie that laid the platform for more and more lies.
