Over $61,000 in Local Volunteer Grants

Federal Member for Blaxland, Jason Clare MP today announced $61,410 to support the work of local volunteers.

This money will fund things like fuel costs, training and the purchase much-needed equipment like defibrillators for sporting clubs.

Volunteers make our community tick. They are so important, and this funding will make the work they do a just little bit easier.

“We are grateful for this grant to ensure all our clubs have the appropriate first aid available at all matches,” said Leanne Millar, General Manager of Bankstown District Amateur Football Association.

“This grant will allow the Association to provide Bankstown Sports Stars FC with a lifesaving defibrillator, so the majority of clubs in BDAFA have one available in their facilities.”

“Volunteers are the backbone of the Bankstown Jets,” said Kylie Wilkinson, Vice President of Bankstown Jets Touch Association.

“Following the floods in Milperra, our clubhouse was greatly affected, so this grant will help in buying equipment our volunteers use every weekend.”
