Bankstown traffic congestion is bad – and only going to get worse

If you use the M5 or Stacey Street in peak hour you know how bad the traffic is.

Now a scathing report by Infrastructure Australia proves it.

Infrastructure Australia has released a report revealing the most congested roads in Sydney.

Stacey Street and the M5 between Bankstown and the Airport are both in the Top 10.[1]

The report also says things are only going to get worse.

It shows traffic congestion on Stacey Street and the M5 is likely to double by 2031.[2]

Stacey Street is a major bottleneck – especially the intersection of Stacey Street and the Hume Highway.

What is needed here is an overpass or interchange to get traffic flowing.

Thousands of local people crawl along this road every day. It needs to be fixed.

One of the biggest lies in the last election was the claim by Scott Morrison and the Liberals that they are “busting congestion”.

This report proves this is rubbish.

The Liberals have been in power now for 6 years.

In that time traffic congestion has only increased and this report says it is only going to get worse in the years ahead.

It’s time to fix Stacey Street once and for all.
