Based in Bankstown, Creating Links has been delivering a diverse range of services in the areas of children and family, disability, aged care, fostering, youth and out of school care since 1972.
Today, Federal Member for Blaxland, Jason Clare MP announced $10,000 for Creating Links to fitout a new room, purpose built for the children, young people and families accessing their services.
The funding will go towards the design and installation of a new kitchen and flooring, as well as furniture, toys and resources for children who will use the room.
Mr Clare said “This additional room will help the team at Creating Links provide a positive and safe environment for local families, children and young people in our local area.”
Creating Links Chief Executive, Louise Statz said, “We are extremely happy to have received this grant under the Stronger Communities Programme”.
This funding comes from Round 3 of Jason Clare’s Blaxland Stronger Communities Programme.
The Stronger Communities Programme provides grants, between $5,000 and $20,000, to not-for-profit organisations for small capital works projects that improve our local community.
Over the past three years, the Blaxland Consultation Committee has approved a total of 37 projects, with $438,925 worth of grants being contributed to projects of local community groups.
