Jason Clare raises money for Bankstown Hospital School

Federal Member for Blaxland, the Hon Jason Clare MP has raised $2,800 for the Bankstown Hospital School to buy new equipment for the school’s outdoor learning area.

Kids at Bankstown Hospital who are too sick to go to school are able to attend classes, or receive tutoring at their bedside through the Bankstown Hospital School.

The Star Wars Fundraiser was a great success, 55 people attended the special screening to show their support and raise much needed funds for the Hospital School.

“Our special charity screening of ‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi’ raised $800, and we also received a very generous donation of $2,000 from the Bankstown Sports Club to go toward the Bankstown Hospital School’s new outdoor learning area.”

“Thank you to everyone who joined us last year and helped us raise $2,800. This is a great community effort,” Mr Clare said.

The Bankstown Hospital School Principal, Ms Rosalee Lamaro said that she was very grateful for all the community support the Hospital School has received with this project.

“The area will be upgraded to ensure positive wellbeing and privacy,” Ms Lamaro said.

Three years ago Mr Clare also organised a special charity screening of the last Star Wars movie (The Force Awakes) to buy iPads for the Hospital School.
