On Friday Local Federal MP, Jason Clare announced a $5,000 Federal Government Volunteer Grant for the Birrong Boys High School P&C.
Mr Clare said “This money will be used to install air-conditioning throughout the school library and help keep the kids cool over summer”.
“The Volunteer Grants Program is a great way to support our local volunteers like the parents at Birrong Boys High School who give up their time to help the school community”. Mr Clare said.
Birrong Boys P&C President Judy Saadeddine said “We’re so excited to be able to use this money to help make learning more comfortable during the summer months. Every little bit helps.”
Grants between $1,000 and $5,000 are being awarded to local groups.
This year, thirty-one organisations in our local area each received a share of $137,669 in funding to support the fantastic work these organisations do for our community.
