New Opportunities Arrive in the Heart of Bankstown

Federal Member for Blaxland Jason Clare and Bankstown Multicultural Youth Service (BMYS) have launched a new space at the PepperTree Café in the heart of Bankstown, thanks to $20,000 of funding from Mr Clare’s Stronger Communities Fund.

Mr Clare said “This new venue in the heart of Bankstown CBD can be used for pop-up restaurants, gigs by local artists and community and outreach programs.

BMYS and the PepperTree Café are a local service provider which helps young people engage with the community, find positive opportunities and learn new and employable skills.

The Stronger Communities Programme provides grants, between $5,000 and $20,000, to not-for-profit organisations for small capital works projects that improve our local community.

The Blaxland Consultation Committee has approved a total of 21 projects over two rounds, with $290,695 worth of grants contributed to works in our local community.
