Federal Member for Blaxland Jason Clare today announced funding for $15,000 of major safety works to the Skating Rink at the Roundabout Youth Centre at Sefton, to repair and resurface the rink.
This funding comes from Jason Clare’s Blaxland Stronger Communities Fund.
Mr Clare said “I’m very excited to announce funding for important upgrades and repairs to make our local skating rink safer for the entire community.
“The works being funded include grinding back the surface, patching hazardous cracks and divots and ultimately resurfacing the rink to ensure continued access to a safe, high quality facility for people of all ages and levels of skill.
“The Roundabout Youth Centre at Sefton is one of few remaining skating rinks in the greater Sydney area and offers free skating lessons for beginners as well as an affordable Friday night out for families.”
The Stronger Communities Programme provides grants, between $5,000 and $20,000, to not-for-profit organisations for small capital works projects that improve our local community.
The Blaxland Consultation Committee has approved a total of 21 projects over two rounds, with $290,695 worth of grants contributed to works in our local community.
