Clare Serves High Quality Upgrades for Auburn Tennis Courts

Federal Member for Blaxland Jason Clare today announced that $15,000 of upgrades and repairs to local Tennis courts in Auburn have begun, to make the playing surfaces safer for the community.

This funding comes from Jason Clare’s Blaxland Stronger Communities Fund.

Mr Clare said “I’m very excited to announce that important upgrades and repairs to our local Auburn Tennis courts are underway.

“Thanks to Honorary Secretary Stephen Le Roy and the Berala Carramar Hardcourt Tennis Association, five damaged and cracked courts are being upgraded with Tennis Australia accredited plexipave surfaces.

“These important repairs and upgrades ensure that members of our community, of all ages and levels of skill, will have access to safe and affordable, high quality facilities.”

The Berala Carramar Hardcourt Tennis Association has been offering and promoting tennis in the Auburn area since 1927.

This outdoor space is used by people of all ages and levels of skill, and is available seven days a week, having catered for up to 800 participants a week.

The Stronger Communities Programme provides grants, between $5,000 and $20,000, to not-for-profit organisations for small capital works projects that improve our local community.

The Blaxland Consultation Committee has approved a total of 21 projects over two rounds, with $290,695 worth of grants contributed to works in our local community.
