Member for Blaxland, Hon Jason Clare MP today announced that a re-elected Albanese Labor Government will support the construction of the new community centre at St Elias Melkite Parish in Guildford.
Labor’s $3.5 million election commitment will assist the Melkite Catholic Eparchy of Australia and their vision for the future of the St Elias Parish.
The project will include two multipurpose halls, new meeting rooms, a commercial kitchen, more parking and designated office space for the parish and Melkite Charitable Foundation.
The community centre will play a vital role in supporting the most vulnerable members of the Melkite community, including the elderly, youth, and newly arrived individuals. It will also be used for the wider local community in Blaxland.
Consistent with past practice, election commitments will be delivered in line with Commonwealth Grants Rules and Principles.
