55 babies welcomed into our community

On the weekend, Federal Member for Blaxland, Jason Clare MP, held his eighth ‘Welcoming the Babies’ ceremony at Bass Hill Plaza.

Mr Clare officially welcomed 55 babies and toddlers at the special event which was attended by more than 200 people.

‘Welcoming the Babies’ celebrates new births in our local community and a chance to say thank you to all the mums and dads for the important work they do.

On the day mums and dads received a special certificate and a gift bag which contained useful samples and information about raising babies and toddlers.

“It’s just a small way to say thank you to the new mums and dads who take on this big responsibility and give them a helping hand.

“Raising a child is hard work. It’s important that parents know that there are support services available to them.

“The youngest baby at the event was Evelyn Seles, born just 3½ weeks ago,” Mr Clare said

Mz Dinaz dance studio entertained the crowd with a number of dazzling dance and singing performances.

Hoot also made a special guest appearance on the day.

Some of the organisations that contributed to the success of the day included:
