Jason Clare, Federal Member for Blaxland today welcomes the announcement that the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is coming to Bankstown in July 2016.
“This is great news – The NDIS will ensure that people in Bankstown living with a disability, their families and carers are provided with the care and support they need,” Mr Clare said.
“Bankstown has around 4,500 local people with a disability and 1,800 carers – making it the fourth highest in the state.
“Labor created the NDIS so we know what this means for people with disability.
“We know that the current system of disability support is broken and needs to be fixed.
“We know how the NDIS will transform lives. Already, more than 17,000 people with disability across Australia now have individualised plans, giving them more choice and control over their lives and the support they receive.
“I look forward to seeing it continue to change the lives of people with disability in Bankstown,” Mr Clare said.
