“This is an exciting project. It employs 40 people in the construction phase and will mean up to 70 new jobs for our community in the long-term. It also makes more places available for older residents,” Mr Clare said.
“Australia’s aging population creates new opportunities within the aged care sector. Advantaged Care at Georges Hall is an example of an aged care facility adapting to meet the needs of the community,” Mr Clare said.
The new facilities have been designed with the environment in mind. Features include:
An energy efficient laundry that uses 60% less water than a regular laundry
Water storage tanks that use stormwater for flushing toilets and drip-irrigation
Sky lights, energy efficient lights and lighting controls, which minimise energy consumption
“This development is good for local jobs, good for local residents and good for the local environment,” Mr Clare said.
