Jason Clare opens new school library at Carramar Public School

Federal Member for Blaxland, Jason Clare MP, visited Carramar Public School this week to officially open its new school library, built as part of the Australian Government’s Building the Education Revolution (BER).

Mr Clare was joined at the opening by the School’s Principal, Mr Greg Way and past School Council President, Mr Bill Dumbrell.

Carramar Public School received a total of $2.1 million under the program. In addition to the new library, the funding was also used to carpet and repaint classrooms in the school.

“Carramar Public School which was established in 1924 has never had a purpose built library. Instead they have been making do with two connected classrooms,” Mr Clare said.

“This is a fantastic new library. I’m certain all 240 students at Carramar Public School will enjoy reading and learning here,” Mr Clare said.

The students celebrated the official opening of the library with a ‘Bake a Book’ competition. The winning cakes were baked and decorated by class 1/2D and class 5/6M.
