Minister for Defence Materiel Jason Clare today congratulated the finalists of the men’s and women’s ADF Hockey finals.
“I would like to congratulate everyone who has participated in the competition,” Mr Clare said.
“The games have been competitive but have been played in the true spirit of camaraderie.
“The finals have proven to be a real State of Origin battle, with Queensland taking on New South Wales in both the men’s and women’s games.”
The competition was played at the Crest Hockey Centre in Bankstown from Saturday 28 May to Friday 3 June.
“It is a privilege for Bankstown’s Hockey Centre to be hosting this year’s Australian Defence Hockey Championships.
“Events like these are a great way for the local community to come out and show their support for the work our Defence personnel do.
“I wish all those members who will be taking on the New Zealand team in Canberra in August the very best of luck.”
