Federal Member for Blaxland, Jason Clare MP, visited Guildford Public School today to officially open six new classrooms in a purposed built building, which were constructed as part of the Australian Government’s Building the Education Revolution (BER).
Mr Clare was joined at the opening by the School’s Principal Mr Peter Lawless, the School Education Director for Granville Mr Murat Dizdar, Holroyd Councillor Pam Coleman and the President of Guildford Leagues Club Mr Graham Bonwick.
Guildford Public School received a total of $2.6 million under the program.
“These are great new classrooms. They will help the students to learn and allow the school to grow,” Mr Clare said.
“It is great to witness first hand the impact these facilities have already had on the Guildford school community, ‘ Mr Clare said.
The students celebrated the official opening of the new classrooms with a special school assembly which featured the school choir performing a powerful rendition of ‘Corners of the Sky’.
