Jason Clare opens multipurpose hall and classroom upgrades at Immaculate Heart of Mary

Federal Member for Blaxland, Jason Clare MP, visited Immaculate Heart of Mary School in Sefton today to officially open its multipurpose hall and refurbished classrooms which were constructed as part of the Australian Government’s Building the Education Revolution (BER).

Mr Clare was joined at the opening by the School’s Principal Mrs Anne-Marie Da Silva, State Member for Auburn Barbara Perry MP, Parish Priest Father Brian Harris and Mr Paul Cronin from the Catholic Education Office.

Immaculate Heart of Mary School Sefton received a total of $2.7 million under the program. In addition to the multipurpose hall and the refurbished classrooms, the funding was also used to construct a new shade structure in the school playground.

“These are great new facilities. They will help the students to learn and allow the school to grow,” Mr Clare said.

“It is great to see our local schools are getting the facilities that our kids deserve.

Immaculate Heart of Mary School Principal Mrs Anne-Marie Da Silva, said these renovations have been of great benefit to students and teachers.

Parents and students celebrated the official opening with a special school assembly.
