Jason Clare opens new multipurpose hall and refurbished classrooms at Birrong Public School

Federal Member for Blaxland, Jason Clare MP, officially opened Birrong Public School’s new multipurpose hall and refurbished classrooms which were constructed as part of the Australian Government’s Building the Education Revolution (BER).

Mr Clare was joined at the opening by the School’s Principal Mr John Massard.

Birrong Public School received a total of $3.07million under the program. In addition to the new multipurpose hall and refurbished classrooms, the funding was also used to construct a new outdoor learning area.

“These are great new facilities. They will help the students to learn and allow the school to grow,” Mr Clare said.

“It is great to see our local schools are getting the facilities that our kids deserve.

Birrong Public School Principal Mr John Massard, said the new facilities have been of great benefit to students and teachers. The new multipurpose hall has already been used to host school dances and is now the new home of their ‘Before and After School Care’ program.

The students celebrated the official opening of the new multipurpose hall with a special school assembly, featuring the school’s all brass band and Wakakirri dance troupe.
