Federal Member for Blaxland Jason Clare today officially opened Yennora Public School’s new library, which was constructed under the Federal Government’s Building the Education Revolution (BER).
Mr Clare was joined at the opening by the school’s principal, Ms Anja Schuette, and the School Education Director for Fairfield Mr James Coleborne.
Yennora Public school received $958,118 in Commonwealth funding to build the new library, amenities block and install smart boards in classrooms.
“This new library is a fantastic resource, I’m certain all 160 students at Yennora Public School will enjoy reading and learning here,” said Mr Clare.
“It is great to see our local schools are getting the facilities that our kids deserve,” Mr Clare added.
Principal of Yennora Public School, Ms Schuette said, “For a small school, the new library is a big achievement and wouldn’t have been possible without the BER.”
Parents and students celebrated the official opening with a special school assembly.
