70 babies welcomed into our community

Federal Member for Blaxland, Jason Clare MP, officially welcomed 70 babies into our local community at a special ceremony held in South Granville on Saturday.

On the eve of Mother’s Day, more than 150 people attended the fourth annual “Welcoming the Babies” event to celebrate new births in our local community and say thanks to all the mums and dads for the important work they do.

On the day mums and dads received gift bags, containing useful products and information about raising babies and toddlers.

“It’s just a small way to say thank you to the new mums and dads who take on this big responsibility and give them a helping hand,” Mr Clare said

“Raising a child is hard work. It’s important that parents know that there are support services available to them.”

“Our youngest baby to be welcomed at the event was Emily Cramp, born just two weeks ago.”

Thomas Robertson, aged 2 was the recipient of the lucky door prize, a PixiFoto gift certificate valued at $530.
