Federal Member for Blaxland Jason Clare MP today officially opened Yagoona Public School’s new multipurpose hall, canteen and covered outdoor learning area, which were constructed as part of the Australian Government’s Building the Education Revolution (BER).
Mr Clare was joined at the opening by the school’s principal, Ms Linda Wickham and the President of the P&C, Mrs Silvana Manoski.
Yagoona Public school received $3.45 million in funding to build the new multipurpose hall, canteen and covered outdoor learning area.
“These new facilities are a great resource. They will help the students to learn and allow the school to grow,” Mr Clare said.
“It is great to see our local schools are getting the facilities that our kids deserve,” Mr Clare added.
Yagoona Public school has already put their new multipurpose hall to good use. The school has used it for performance days, sports and recreation activities as well as whole school assemblies.
Parents and students celebrated the official opening with a special school assembly, which featured a very entertaining dance performance from Year 1 as well as a special screening of Class 5G’s short film “Ned Kelly”.
