New school building to honour Father Arthur

Federal Member for Blaxland Jason Clare MP today attended a ceremony at Georges River Grammar School to name a building after one of the school’s founding members, Father Arthur Rossiter.
Mr Clare paid tribute to the hard work and dedication Father Arthur has shown to the school.

“Georges River Grammar School owes a lot of its success to the vision Father Arthur Rossiter and Father Tony Wood had 28 years ago,” Mr Clare said.

“They wanted a school which not only provided a great education, in things like English , Maths and Science, but also in things that are a bit more difficult to teach – the values of tolerance, compassion and justice.”

Terry Lidgard former Principal of Georges River Grammar School said, “Father Arthur has worked tirelessly over the years for the school and he really deserves this honour. He has always exemplified the best in Christian service.”

The school received $1.2 million from the Federal Government for the construction of the new facilities.
