Federal Member for Blaxland, Jason Clare and the Federal Member for Banks, Daryl Melham, have welcomed the Federal Government’s National Plan for School Improvement.
The National Plan for School Improvement will deliver more resources to every school in the country.
For the first time, funding for Australian schools will be calculated based on the needs of every child in the classroom. Extra funding will be available for students facing educational disadvantage such as low SES, disability and poor English skills.
“This is great news for our local schools and our local community,” Mr Clare said.
“Children in our local area deserve the same opportunities as children around the country.
“The Federal Government is committed to ensuring every child gets the same opportunity to a great education. Education is the key to success, giving our children the skills and knowledge they need to get the high paid jobs of the future.”
Mr Melham welcomes the Governments National Plan for School Improvement, “I have been contacted by many individuals and communities about their expectations of Australia’s education system.
“This is one of the most exciting developments in our future as a nation.
“The National Plan for School Improvement means that all students will receive the opportunity they need to succeed; this is especially important for students in disadvantaged areas, or those students with special needs.
“Our local teachers and staff, with their school communities, work hard to ensure that local children get every chance they can to succeed. I see the National Plan for School Improvement as assisting them in their endeavours.”
