Chester Hill Public School is one of six schools in our local area to receive funding from this program to install solar panels, rain water tanks and a range of energy saving measures.

Patrician Brothers College Fairfield, Immaculate Heart of Mary School in Sefton, and Peter Chanel Primary School have all received $50,000 each.

Birrong Girls High School received $33,000 and Condell Park Christian School received $49,968.

“This program helps schools install things like solar systems and rainwater tanks,” Mr Clare said.

“It is good for the environment and good for our local schools.”

Chester Hill Public School plans to use the grant to install solar panels.

Principal, Brent Kunkler, said that this would improve the energy efficiency of the school by adding to the existing solar panels which were added as a part of their BER funding.

“The National Solar Schools Program helps us to teach our students the importance of conserving energy and reducing carbon emissions,” Mr Kunkler said.
