Jason Clare calls on State Government to reject Bankstown Airport’s plan to take over Georges River Golf Club

Federal Member for Blaxland, Jason Clare MP has urged the NSW Government to reject the request by Bankstown Airport to take over the lease of the Georges River Golf Club.

Bankstown Airport has sought the approval of the NSW Government to transfer the lease of the Georges River Golf Club and for permission to use the land to expand aviation activities.

“This is part of a plan to introduce passenger aircraft services at Bankstown Airport.

“I don’t support the introduction of passenger aircraft,’ Mr Clare said.

“If the NSW Liberal Government approves this expansion of Bankstown Airport it will mean more noise and more traffic in Georges Hall, Bass Hill, Condell Park, Revesby and Milperra,” Mr Clare said.

Mr Clare has written to the NSW Minister for Planning, The Hon Brad Hazzard MP, calling on him to reject the proposal.

“I strongly oppose this and I call on the State Government to reject it.
