Christmas Care Packages for our troop overseas

Jason Clare, Minister for Defence Materiel and Member for Blaxland is encouraging local residents to send a care package to our troops who are serving overseas this Christmas.

“A lot of our troops will be spending Christmas overseas away from their families. This is a great way to thank them for the work they are doing for us and remind them of home,” Mr Clare said.

“A great way to show your support is by sending our troops a message or a care package this Christmas.

Members of the public are able to send letters, cards and small care packages to Australian Forces Post Office Box, posted without any cost to the sender.

The postal address below is active from 22 October until 7 December 2012.

  • Send an email message to the troops at email/messagethetroops)(defence.gov.au;
  • Purchase a care package assembled by the RSL Australian Forces Overseas Fund (www.rsl.org.au);
  • Make a donation to assist those seriously wounded in operations (www.soldieron.org.au)
  • Make a donation to those families who are suffering financially or socially after the death of a spouse or a parent (www.legacy.com.au)
