The National Rental Affordability Scheme is designed to assist low income Australians who are homeless or struggling in the private rental market.

Under this scheme, the new units will be rented to eligible low and moderate income households at a rate that is at least 20 per cent below the market rate.

“Our area has a strong need for projects like these. It will make a huge difference to a lot of people’s lives,” Mr Clare said.

“More people in Guildford will now have a place to call home – this is a great scheme delivering affordable rental properties for families in the community.”

The 16 new units were built by the multi-award winning western Sydney building company, Hadcon Constructions and will be managed by local community housing provider, Ecclesia Housing Limited.

Dr Judy Banko is the CEO of Ecclesia Housing Limited and is looking forward to seeing the positive impact that these units will have on local families.

“The growing cost of housing has a significant impact on people in our local community. These new apartments are just one thing that we can do to help those who are struggling to make ends meet,” Dr Banko said.
