Federal Member for Blaxland, Jason Clare MP, today officially opened the UWS Early Learning Bankstown Childcare Centre.
Mr Clare was joined at the opening by Vice-Chancellor, Professor Janice Reid AM, Ms Susan Hudson, the chair of UWS Early Learning Board, Scott Parker, Deputy Mayor of Bankstown City Council, Uncle Ivan, UWS Early Learning Bankstown staff as well as students and parents.
The new UWS Early Learning Bankstown Childcare Centre is one of five child care centres located on University of Western Sydney campuses.
Local students and staff, who are also parents, will now have greater access to state-of-the-art child care, specifically designed to provide high quality child care and early learning experiences.
“This new centre will help local parents, particularly when it comes to making the big commitment to study at university,” Mr Clare said.
“There is nothing more important than returning to work or study knowing that our kids are in a safe and happy environment, supported by qualified early childhood professionals.
“The Child Care Rebate will help local families cover out-of-pocket costs of child care – covering up to 50 per cent of out-of-pocket costs, which is up to $7,500 per child, per year.
