Jason Clare pledges to give our children the best possible start

Federal Member for Blaxland, Jason Clare MP today signed the Community Childcare Co-Op Election Pledge to support the National Quality Framework at UnitingCare White Dove Children’s Centre in Condell Park.

“Our children deserve the best start in life, that’s why I’m committed to lifting the quality of child care,” Mr Clare said.

“It is important that local mums and dads get access to affordable quality care for their children to help prepare them for school.”

Ms Jenny Stone, Director of UnitingCare White Dove Children’s Centre said that maintaining the current standards within the National Quality Framework is critical to ensure children make the best possible transition.

“UnitingCare Children’s Services is committed to the National Quality Framework reforms which are playing a vital role in raising standards in early childhood education and care centres across Australia,” Ms Stone said.

The National Quality Framework requires all providers to improve services and provide families with better information.

It includes:

  • Improved educator to child ratios, so that each child gets the individual care and attention that they need
  • Higher educator qualifications to equip staff to provide the kind of activities that help children learn and develop
  • More information for parents through a transparent ratings system
